The Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive, resourceful, and strategic thinker to join our dynamic Real Estate Advisory team as a Senior Consultant. In this role, you will:

  • Assist clients in strategising how their buildings can transform their operational capabilities.
  • Work closely with key decision-makers to align real estate strategy with future vision.
  • Provide data-driven analysis of real estate portfolios to inform decision-making.
  • Develop robust business cases to secure critical funding opportunities.
  • Resolve complex challenges with precision and adaptability—every project has unique requirements.

The team supports public and private sector clients across healthcare, education, defence, local/central government, and commercial sectors, helping unlock the potential of their real estate assets. Your work spans:

  • Estate Strategies
  • Business Cases
  • Real Estate Asset Management
  • Workplace Consulting

Collaboration is encouraged across sectors and service lines, ensuring a holistic understanding of our clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

Core Focus Areas

  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Co-create tailored real estate solutions with clients to address their unique challenges.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth feasibility studies and data-backed research for informed decision-making.
  • Industry Insight: Provide expert guidance on real estate market trends and sector-specific developments.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact solutions on time and on budget.
  • Business Development: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Scotland (internal and external) to identify new opportunities.
  • Innovation: Transform complex challenges into growth opportunities for long-term resilience.

Key Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the UK Real Estate industry.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in consultancy, advisory, or client-side roles.
  • Proven ability to author strategic documentation, including:
    • Business Cases (especially from a real estate investment/change perspective).
    • Estate Strategies.
  • Familiarity with the HM Treasury Green Book 5-Case Model.
  • Sector expertise in at least one of:
    • Defence
    • Local Government
    • Central Government
    • Healthcare
    • Education
    • Commercial (with understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procurement procedures).
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex insights to diverse audiences.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree or industry recognition in:
    • Real Estate
    • Construction Management
    • Surveying
  • Security Clearance (SC) or willingness to pursue clearance.
  • Leadership experience in managing projects and teams under budget.
  • Financial acumen, including appraising investments and conducting financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in tools like Excel and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of benefits management.
