Senior Consulting Software Developer
Senior Consulting Software Developer – Professional Services (Remote/Hybrid, Gloucestershire Focus)
i2 Group, a Harris Computer company, is seeking an experienced Senior Consulting Software Developer for a full-time, permanent role on a remote or hybrid work basis with frequent travel to customer sites across the Gloucestershire area.
About the Role
You’ll join i2’s Professional Services team, supporting UK and international clients throughout the full product lifecycle of i2 intelligence analysis platforms. Your role spans:
- Architecture & design
- Implementation & deployment
- Configuration & integration
- Training & knowledge transfer
- Performance optimisation
As a trusted extension of client teams, you’ll facilitate meaningful intelligence extraction from complex datasets and drive platform adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Implementation
- Collaborate with clients to design bespoke roadmaps, including:
- Deployment and upgrade plans
- Data migrations
- Performance tuning
- Ensure solutions align with workflows, data requirements, and integrations.
Platform Customisation & Integration
- Configure and extend core products:
- Analyst’s Notebook
- iBase
- Analysis Hub/Studio
- TextChart
- Develop and integrate data connectors and visualisations as needed.
Client Engagement & Requirements Management
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional designs.
- Maintain open communication with stakeholders, explaining technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Assess and mitigate risks while managing expectations.

Performance Review & System Optimisation
- Conduct health checks and organisational performance reviews.
- Recommend workflow enhancements and system maturity improvements.
- Act as a subject-matter expert to guide adopters.
Knowledge Transfer & Training Support
- Provide knowledge transfer sessions, training, and demonstrations.
- Work with the training team or directly upskill client analysts.
- Share best practices to maximise platform utility.
Essential Requirements
Monitor applicability to the role, as gaps may disqualify you.
- Coding Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript/React (hands-on experience required).
- Database Expertise:
- T-SQL knowledge (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) with hands-on queries.
- Client-Facing Experience:
- Comfortable in professional 1:1 and group settings, with 2+ years of direct client-facing consulting.
- Communication:
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics for non-technicals.
- Consulting Experience:
- 3–5 years total (including at least 2 years client-facing) in technology/PS, particularly in intelligence, security, or government sectors preferred.
- Security & Compliance:
- Easy adaptability for security clearances and residential eligibility for UK work.

Desirable Requirements

- Deployment/Configuration:
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux app deployment, CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
- Legacy Languages:
- Prior experience with Java, C# highlighted favorably.
- Virtualisation:
- Experience with VMware/Hyper-V/Docker/Kubernetes.
- i2-specific Knowledge:
- Preferential: Experience with Analyst’s Notebook, TextChart, iBase, Studio/Hub, or connectors.

Qualifications
- Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields (analogous experience accepted).
- Certifications: Neuroscience or business/data analysis credentials are helpful but optional.
