Senior Consulting Software Developer
i2 Group, a Harris Computer company, are seeking an experienced Senior Consulting Software Developer on a full-time, permanent, remote or hybrid-working basis with frequent travel to customer sites in the Gloucestershire area.
About the Role
You’ll join i2’s Professional Services team, working directly with UK clients or alongside international partners to deploy, configure, and optimise our intelligence analysis platforms across the full lifecycle—from architecture design and implementation planning to training handover and long-term optimisation. Your deep domain and technical expertise will ensure you act as a trusted extension of the client team, delivering high-impact solutions, driving adoption, and enabling analysts to derive meaningful intelligence from complex datasets.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Implementation
- Collaborate with clients to design and implement bespoke roadmap strategies, including planning, deployment, upgrades, data migrations, and performance tuning.
Platform Customisation & Integration
- Configure and extend core products (Analyst’s Notebook, iBase, Analysis Hub/Studio, TextChart) to align with customer workflows, data requirements, and integration needs.
Client Engagement & Requirements Management
- Understand, gather, and document business requirements, translating them into functional configurations and technical designs.
- Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to client stakeholders.
Performance Review & System Optimisation
- Conduct health checks, refine performance, and recommend improvements to enhance analyst workflows and system maturity.
Knowledge Transfer & Training Support
- Deliver knowledge transfer sessions, best-practice training, and demos.
- Support the internal training team or upskill client analysts directly.

Essential Requirements
Technical Skills
- Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript/TypeScript/React (critical for this role).
- Database proficiency: Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL, including T-SQL development.
- Understanding of application deployment/ configuration on Windows or Linux systems (automated or professional context preferred).
- Knowledge of CICD pipelines and automated deployment testing (a plus).
Development Experience
- Preference for additional experience in Java or C# (though not mandatory).
Virtualisation & Containers
- Familiarity with virtualisation/container platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes).
Pre-existing i2 Experience
- Hands-on experience with i2’s products (Analyst’s Notebook, iBase, Analysis Studio/Hub, TextChart) and data connectors/visualisation (highly beneficial).
Professional Experience
- 3–5 years (minimum 2 years client-facing) in technology or professional services, with exposure to intelligence, security, or government sectors preferred.
- Award-winning security clearance (must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship to obtain necessary clearance).
Desirable Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field (technical domain).
- Certifications in business analysis or intelligence analysis (not essential).

- Adaptable and proactive, with a growth mindset.
- Sharp organisational ability and attention to detail.
