⭐ Our Communications team
We're looking for an experienced communications professional for a Senior Consumer PR Manager (12 month fixed term contract) role to lead Monzo's earned consumer communications programme in the UK.
You'll identify the opportunities that matter most and develop earned communications that help more people discover, understand and trust Monzo. Working across Product, Marketing and Business teams, you'll bring products, customer insights and business priorities to life in ways that deliver real business impact.
You'll build long-term communications plans while staying agile enough to respond to changing priorities, emerging opportunities and shifting timelines. Strong planning, judgement, adaptability and stakeholder management skills are essential to success in this role.
While this role is focused on the UK, you'll also act as a trusted advisor to our European Communications team, sharing expertise and helping shape consumer communications as we grow internationally.
We're excited by how communications is evolving. Whether it's AI, changing search behaviour, creators or emerging platforms, we're looking for someone who's curious about what's next and excited to experiment with new ways of reaching audiences.
🔑 You’ll play a key role by…
- Developing and delivering Monzo's UK earned consumer communications strategy and roadmap, aligned to business priorities.
- Partnering across Product, Marketing, Business and other cross-functional teams to shape plans early, identify opportunities, understand the wider stakeholder landscape and manage reputational considerations from the outset.
- Leading communications around our products, data, customer insights and business priorities—creating earned stories through product launches, original insight, reactive opportunities and integrated campaigns.
- Developing creative communications ideas internally and with agency partners, recognising that the best ideas don't always need a major campaign, a large budget, an agency brief or a business-driven moment.
- Exercising strong editorial judgement and prioritising the work that will have the greatest impact.
- Building relationships with journalists, creators and emerging platforms, continually evolving how we reach audiences.
- Using data, AI and audience insight to uncover opportunities, improve the way we work and evolve our communications approach.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to our European Communications team, sharing expertise and helping shape consumer communications across our expansion markets.
- Contributing to the leadership and continuous improvement of the Communications team, helping raise the quality of work through open, constructive feedback and thoughtful challenge.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
