Role Summary

This role sits at the centre of how CMS communicates its expertise, priorities and market position to clients and the wider market. Working across CMS UK and with international colleagues, you’ll lead and coordinate content that supports key client relationships, showcases the firm’s work and brings together expertise across sectors, practices and jurisdictions.

It’s a senior, strategically important role for someone who understands how content functions within a large international law firm and is comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders on complex, high‑value initiatives.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work on a broad range of content activity, including:

Leading the development and delivery of high‑quality content across CMS UK and international offices, supporting firmwide priorities as well as sector and practice group initiatives. Working with partners, lawyers and business development teams to shape thought leadership programmes, client‑facing campaigns and strategic content plans. Overseeing the creation and coordination of a wide range of content, including reports, articles, campaign assets, client materials, website content and profile‑raising initiatives. Helping lawyers identify opportunities to connect services, sectors and expertise through joined‑up, commercially focused content that supports stronger client conversations. Managing content workflows from briefing through to publication, ensuring work is delivered on time and aligned with CMS brand and messaging standards. Collaborating with colleagues across marketing, digital, communications and design teams to ensure content is effectively distributed and reused across platforms and regions. Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on content structure, messaging, tone and audience engagement. Contributing to the ongoing development of CMS’s content approach, including improving processes, governance, performance measurement and knowledge‑sharing across teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
