About the Role and the Team
Reporting to the Head of Contract Management, this senior commercial role is responsible for managing Hyperoptic’s strategic supplier relationships, with a focus on Openreach and regulated network products (e.g., EAD, PIA, FTTP).
Operating within the contract management function, the role leads:
- Commercial management of key agreements across their lifecycle
- Ensuring value delivery, risk control, and alignment with business requirements
Positioned at the intersection of commercial, network, product, and finance, this role:
- Provides subject-matter expertise
- Drives best-practice contract management disciplines
- Focuses on supplier performance, financial control, and governance
- Delivers measurable commercial outcomes
- Supports strategic initiatives
- Manages a small team
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily commercial relationship with Openreach across relevant products
- Act as the primary commercial interface into Openreach, supporting senior stakeholders as needed
- Implement supplier strategies aligned with business plans and product direction
- Support leveraging Openreach to enable business growth
- Manage the full lifecycle of Openreach and key network supplier contracts
- Drive best-practice contract management
- Lead renegotiations, renewals, and commercial interventions within delegated authority
- Provide expertise in supplier commercial and contract matters
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across commercial, network, finance, and legal teams
- Identify and mitigate commercial and regulatory risks proactively

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a business, IT, or science discipline—Ideally with a contract management qualification (e.g., IACCM)
- Proven track record in a similar commercial role with a focus on delivery
- Telecoms industry experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation skills
- Super-user proficiency in business intelligence tools, databases, and finance systems
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build and manage cross-functional relationships
- Strong communication skills
- People management and leadership experience
- Analytical and flexible problem-solving mindset
