Senior Contracts Advisor – Claxton & Probe
About the Role
Claxton and Probe are part of the Offshore division of the AF Gruppen group, delivering integrated engineering, product, and service solutions to the global energy industry.
Operating across conventional energy, decommissioning, and offshore wind, we support clients throughout the full asset lifecycle—from pre-drilling and installation to late-life operations and decommissioning. Our capabilities combine fast-track engineering and design, specialist manufacturing and fabrication, and a substantial fleet of rental tooling and equipment. This integrated model enables us to cut through complexity and respond quickly to technical challenges, delivering safe, reliable and economically pragmatic solutions in some of the world’s most demanding offshore environments. With a global footprint and a strong project delivery mindset, our teams are focused on ensuring certainty and performance where it matters most.
The business is currently looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Senior Contracts Advisor to support the delivery of commercially sound outcomes aligned with business objectives. This role will provide day-to-day legal and contractual review, advice, and negotiation across global operations, reporting directly to the Senior Contracts Manager. The position is based primarily at Claxton’s Great Yarmouth office, with an option for some home working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
