Job Summary

Location: Bournemouth

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Contracts Manager to join our team.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of commercial value across our customer contracts, supplier agreements, and service provider contracts.


Key Responsibilities

The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, including contract award, renewal, extension, and termination. This critical role aims to ensure:

  • Compliance with contractual terms and relevant regulations
  • Governance excellence
  • Commercial performance and risk mitigation
  • Strong stakeholder relationships

Core Duties

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including renewals, variations, and terminations.
  • Lead contract negotiations and renewals, ensuring agreements are delivered on time and aligned with business goals.
  • Establish and maintain robust contract governance processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee contract performance, monitor measurable performance indicators (KPIs) such as service level agreements (SLAs for suppliers and customers), and identify risk opportunities.
  • Convey contract performance insights for strategic decision-making and commercial gain.
  • Identify opportunities to improve value, reduce operational costs, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Produce detailed contract performance and governance reports for senior management stakeholders.
  • Support procurement, tender, and contract audit processes, as needed.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with UKOfwat (water industry regulator), MOSL (Market Operating Committee) codes, and GDPR policies.
  • Maintain compliance with internally established throughput standards to mitigate risks comprehensively.

Qualifications and Experience

We seek candidates who:

  • Have proven experience in contract management, commercial management, procurement, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and risk management skills in complex commercial contracts.
  • Possess knowledge and experience in contract governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
  • Exhibit excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Develop analytical, organizational, and reporting capabilities.
  • Prefer candidates with regulatory compliance experience in utilities or the water sector.
