Senior Manager – Controls Assurance (FTC, Manchester)
Introduction My client is a global leader in consultancy with operations across the UK, from Scotland to the South Coast.
Jefferson Tiley are assisting with the hire of a Senior Manager to focus on Controls Assurance for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC). The role is based in Manchester, and we are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and approach.
About the Role
This is a senior hiring opportunity for strategic and experienced professionals. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Controls Assurance capability, driving business growth, and delivering complex engagements to FTSE-listed clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development & Business Growth
- Deliver high-complexity assignments with diverse client requirements
- Collaborate with senior team members to shape Controls Assurance strategy, marketing, and business development
- Lead and contribute to new client pitches and proposal writing

Project Leadership & Execution
- Undertake, lead and deliver Sox testing engagements
- Design, develop and implement controls frameworks
- Manage other ad-hoc compliance and assurance services

Accountability & Delivery
- Work independently, ensuring on-time and budgeted delivery of projects
- Assess and allocate resources, monitor progress, and resolve issues before Partner review
- Review work of junior staff, coaching and providing feedback to ensure quality

Team & Compliance Support
- Address departmental issues, ensuring adherence to firm policies and risk management procedures
- Foster a culture of excellence in client service for FTSE portfolio clients
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Qualifications of ACA, ACCA, MIIA or CCAB or equivalent recognised professional certification

Industry Experience
- Ideally experience in SOX or UK Internal Control Frameworks
- Proven track record in a consultancy or assurance role
- Leadership experience in a similar Senior Manager or Project Manager position

- Passion for exceptional client service, backed by a strategic entrepreneurial mindset
Remuneration and Benefits
- Competitive Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 (adjustments based on experience)
