About the Role
Salesforce is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our UK & Ireland Commercial Legal team. This dedicated team delivers innovative, trusted, and world-class legal services, ensuring the protection and advancement of Salesforce’s interests while fostering a fulfilling legal workspace.
As a key subject matter expert, you will act as a legal anchor for Salesforce’s Public Sector business, focusing on high-value cloud and technology transactions spanning central government, local authorities, healthcare, and higher education.
You will collaborate with an established and structured UK & Ireland legal team, working alongside Senior Corporate Counsel peers and wider colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Commercial Transaction Management
- Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for direct and indirect Public Sector sales routes, with a dedicated emphasis on:
- Large UK public sector procurements
- Strategic governmental framework agreements, including BOS2 and other major UK government frameworks

Contract Negotiation
- Lead negotiations of Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Order Forms, Professional Services Agreements, and related commercial documentation either on Salesforce paper or government paper, adhering to Salesforce’s approved parameters.

- Navigate and respond to complex public procurement requirements such as:
- Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/Informations
- Ethical walls agreements
- Drafting clarification questions
- Ensure strict compliance with UK public sector procurement regulations

- Partner with leading sales teams and business stakeholders throughout the UK & Ireland region to:

- Provide strategic legal guidance

- Assess complex commercial and legal risks inherent in public sector contracting
- Craft pragmatic, risk-focused legal advice
- Escalate critical matters appropriately to leadership when necessary

- Case Management
- Proficiency in using Salesforce’s internal systems for:
- Legal case tracking

Essential Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor: Holding current practicing certificate (England & Wales) OR equivalent qualification from a Common Law jurisdiction.
- PQE:minimum of 10+ years, ideally acquired:
- In-house at a technology company
- OR in independent practice, advising tech clients and government entities.
- Public Sector Expertise: Preference given to candidates with:
- An authoritative grasp of UK procurement legislation.
- Experience in UK government in-house roles.
- Extensive exposure to:
- Major UK government frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, BOS2).
- Complex public sector contracts.
- Drafting & Negotiation Skills: Exceptional ability to:
- Balance commercial objectives against risk management in high-stakes agreements.
- Judgment & Problem-solving: Strong aptitude to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple, complex transactions simultaneously.
- Self-starter Mentality: Ability to operate independently and cohesively escalate issues.
