Role at a Glance

The Corporate Counsel, Global Legal Commercial Contracts (m/f/d) is a highly skilled legal professional who provides comprehensive support in global client contracts, including contract analysis, drafting, and global contracting mechanisms. This role requires deep knowledge and understanding of global client contracting, with a focus on complex commercial leases and service agreements. The individual in this role works independently in their core competencies while handling complex matters under the guidance of the Director and Vice President of Global Legal Commercial Contracts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Structure, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for the business across global regions, including:
    • Commercial lease documents
    • Master service agreements
    • Sales orders
    • Change orders and other complex evolving agreements
  • Manage risk and compliance, ensuring that business and legal needs are accurately reflected in client agreements.
  • Conduct contractual issue analyses across multiple regions, clients, and contracts.
  • Promptly respond to internal inquiries from different departments regarding contractual obligations, prioritising efficiency and compliance.
  • Advise company management on complex client matters, delivering clear and concise communications while adapting persuasive messaging across diverse stakeholders to address risks in:
    • Contractual terms
    • Regulatory compliance
    • Financial implications
    • Legal compliance
  • Professionally interact with clients, internal NTT GDC departments, and corporate affiliates worldwide.
  • Manage frequent demands from multiple internal client groups while maintaining high standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of contracting procedures and templates to enhance operational efficiency.

Knowledge & Attributes

  • Multiple years of legal experience, combining corporate law firm and in-house roles, aligned with the:
    • Data Center industry
    • Real Estate industry
    • Technology sector (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English required.
  • Seasoned professional with:
    • Mastery in global client contracts and commercial leasing
    • Advanced experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial agreements
  • Demonstrates creative and independent problem-solving while consulting with senior managers when needed.
  • Contributes strategically to company goals by:
    • Applying advanced conceptual thinking to complex legal, financial, and business dilemmas
    • Developing innovative approaches under ambiguous conditions
  • Strong global commercial contracting expertise, combining:
    • Legal precision with commercial acumen
    • Ability to integrate legal analysis with business judgment for practical recommendations
  • Persuasive advisor with:
    • Experience advising external stakeholders who lack specialized legal expertise
    • Proficient adapting communication styles to diverse audiences
  • Proven capability for:
    • Independent high-value work with scrutiny at critical junctures
    • Time-sensitive delivery under pressure
    • Prioritising multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and aligning with organizational objectives
  • Frequently delivers strategic input to non-legal teams on high-impact decisions.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Degree in Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  • Qualification as a fully practicing lawyer
