About the Role
Salesforce is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our UK & Ireland Commercial Legal team. The Commercial Legal team delivers innovative, trusted, and world-class legal services, advancing and protecting Salesforce’s interests while fostering a fulfilling environment for our legal family.
In this role, you’ll serve as one of our dedicated legal subject matter experts and the legal anchor for our Public Sector business. You’ll drive high-value cloud and technology transactions across central government, local authorities, healthcare, and higher education. This position sits within a structured UK & Ireland legal team, partnering with other Senior Corporate Counsel and a broader legal community.
Key Responsibilities

Commercial Transaction Management
- Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for direct and indirect Public Sector sales routes.
- Focus on large UK public sector procurements and strategic government framework agreements (including BOS2 and other major government frameworks).

Contract Negotiation
- Lead negotiations of Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Order Forms, and Professional Services Agreements, either on Salesforce’s paper or government paper (within approved parameters).

Public Sector Expertise
- Navigate and respond to complex public procurement requirements, including:
- Requests for proposals (RFPs)/requests for informations (RFIs).
- Ethical walls agreements.
- Drafting clarification questions.
- Ensuring compliance with UK public sector procurement regulations.

Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with senior sales teams and business stakeholders across the UK & Ireland region.
- Provide strategic legal guidance for high-stakes deals.

Risk Management
- Assess complex commercial and legal risks unique to public sector contracting.
- Provide practical advice and escalate matters to leadership as necessary.

Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with legal teams across EMEA and globally, as well as procurement, finance, and operations teams.

- Case Management
- Utilize Salesforce’s internal systems to track legal cases, manage workflows, and maintain case visibility.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- A qualified solicitor with an active practicing certificate (England & Wales) or equivalent legal common law jurisdiction qualification.
- 10+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally gained:
- In-house at a technology company, or
- In private practice advising tech clients and/or government entities.
- Deep public sector expertise, with a preference for a robust understanding of:
- UK procurement legislation.
- Government in-house experience and/or extensive experience with:
- UK government frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, BOS2).
- Complex public sector contracts.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills, balancing commercial objectives with legal risk management.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, including multitasking complex transactions concurrently.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and escalate appropriately.
