The Role

This position offers the chance to oversee and develop a varied corporate tax portfolio, delivering both compliance and advisory services across diverse sectors. Ideal candidates are proactive professionals eager to grow their expertise and lead a forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve tax queries and explain complex issues.
  • Support tax advisory projects, including:
    • R&D credits
    • Restructurings
    • Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) due diligence
  • Oversee work-in-progress and billing for the assigned portfolio.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Collaborate internally to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.

Ideal Profile

This role is suited to a motivated individual with strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset. Key traits include:

  • Proficiency in managing a corporate tax portfolio and advising stakeholders.
  • Experience handling complex tax advisory projects (e.g., EMI schemes, restructuring, R&D claims).
  • Ability to develop a niche in tax planning.
  • Strong communicator with mentoring and leadership potential.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant experience in corporate tax compliance across various industries.
  • Proven ability to lead advisory projects and manage work-in-progress/billing.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CTA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP/FRS 102 and current tax legislation.
  • Experience in transaction support and M&A due diligence.
