Scope of Work: Cost Controller

This role focuses on the KJO DeSalter Project, acting as an independent cost overseer for financial performance, reporting, governance, and decision-making support for project teams.

The Cost Controller operates autonomously, selecting their own methods and tools to deliver results efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively preparing monthly cost performance reports, including:
    • Cost Performance Index (CPI)
    • Schedule Performance Index (SPI)
    • Variance analysis
  • Developing and updating the cost forecasting model, incorporating risk-adjusted projections
  • Maintaining budget tracking dashboards with expenditure summaries
  • Providing financial insights for project status reports
  • Identifying cost efficiencies and proposing enhancement opportunities
  • Updating the cost risk register, with mitigation recommendations
  • Serving as a financial reporting and trending source for the Project Controls Manager (PCM)

Cost and Staffing Management:

  • Preparing and managing staffing plans, including cost and job hours evaluation
  • Coordination of cost reports and financial data analysis

Additional Duties:

  • Collecting and classifying cost engineering data
  • Conducting data-driven analysis and development of insights
  • Ensuring all tasks and milestones are completed independently, on time, and in line with project schedules and budgets
  • Proactively identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and implementing effective actions across project progress metrics
