THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR COST ENGINEER
The Senior Cost Engineer is required to ensure consistency, diligence, and rigour is applied to budgeting, cost performance, and forecasting throughout the delivery process.
- Location: Aberdeen
- Duration: Start ASAP until 18th December 2026

Spirit Energy currently has a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement for all office-based workers (Aberdeen and Barrow). 4 days must be worked in the office with compulsory days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The fourth day worked in-office (either Monday or Friday) is of the worker’s choosing but should be in keeping with what is most efficient and effective for their team. The office is open 5 days a week for full-time, in-office working if this is the contractor’s preference.

- Work closely with the SAP admin team, ensuring PO allocation to the correct WBS.
- Capture commitments, actuals, and forecasting based on reviews of schedules, completing cost reports, and performing cost control through analysis of variances and use of Earned Value Management.
- Deliver cost control and reporting, according to project operating rhythm.
- Support the SAP admin team to deliver improvement initiatives relating to reporting/analysing, and housekeeping activities to allow POs, WBSs, and projects to be closed in a timely manner.
- Deliver accruals, vendor cost management, actuals / VOWD, reviewing EAC / finalising cost reports, and s-curves.
- Create purchase requisitions and service entries.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have:
- APM or PMI preferred (Competent to APM Senior Cost Engineer profile level).
- Qualification or experience in project cost control.
- Significant experience in processing and reporting from SAP, including reporting and analysing project WBS and PO data, closing out POs / WBSs.
- Significant experience and knowledge of MS Office or Office 365 software, especially Excel.
- An understanding of Project Controls, across Planning, Cost, Risk, MoC, EvM.
