The Role

We are leadership-oriented management consultancy specialists in the Commercial Developer sector, leveraging expertise to deliver proactive, value-driven solutions tailored to clients’ needs. This role requires a cost-focused professional to join our Cost Management team, supporting complex projects across new builds, fit-outs, and strategically critical developments.

Key Responsibilities

Cost & Financial Management

  • Assist with feasibility studies, procurement reports, and cost benchmarking
  • Develop, estimate, and submit detailed cost plans in line with project requirements
  • Manage tendering processes, including pre-qualification, tender lists, preliminaries analysis, and report drafting
  • Track and analysing post-contract cost variances and enforce effective change control
  • Conduct valutations, cost review checks, and improve financial document accuracy
  • Generate and present monthly post-contract cost reports

Client & Consultant Engagement

  • Interface professionally with clients and external consultants across all project stages
  • Negotiate final account agreements to ensure financial fairness and efficiency
  • Collaborate on value engineering initiatives for cost optimisation

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead the Cost Management team, ensuring accountability and knowledge-sharing
  • Document and input cost management lessons-learned into the internal database
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cost management templates, tools, and procedures
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to commission management processes
  • Utilise FMS (Financial Management System) for project financial tracking

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or recognised equivalent)
  • MRICS qualification
  • Proven experience in UK cost management, specialising in real estate or property sectors
  • Direct hands-on experience in larger, complex projects (budget: £10M+ pp)
  • Experience in new-build schemes, residential, commercial, or hotel developments
  • Familiarity with fit-out and procurement stages within commercial contexts

Personal Attributes

  • Strong client-facing communication skills with a consultative mindset
  • Proactive approach to process improvement and innovation
  • Ability to work autonomously with high accuracy and attention to detail
