The Role
We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our London-based Developer Team, focusing on high-end residential projects. You’ll work on a diverse portfolio including:
- Refurbishment of listed buildings
- Social housing developments
- Office fit-out projects
We support public sector clients and empower professionals with opportunities to grow in one of real estate’s fastest-evolving sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Financial Management
- Assist with feasibility studies and procurement reports
- Estimate and compile cost plans, presenting finalised versions
- Execute tender management, including pre-qualification, tender lists and preliminaries reports
- Analyse and manage tender outcomes, preliminaries, and final valuations

Post-Contract Cost Control
- Track cost variances and implement change control processes
- Conduct and review apportionments and valuations for accuracy
- Generate and present monthly post-contract cost reports
- Collaborate on value engineering assessments
Bid & Commercial Negotiations
- Negotiate final accounts with contractors, consultants, and clients
- Assist in compiling bid documentation and tender submissions
Client & Cross-Disciplinary Coordination
- Serve as the bridge between the cost team, clients, and consultants across all project stages
- Lead cost management teams, ensuring transparent accountability
Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
- Identify growth opportunities with existing clients
- Improve standards, templates, and reporting tools
- Document key learning points into the internal database
- Monitor commission efficiency and quality
Policy Adherence
- Ensure compliance with the UP-K
Requirements
Technical Skills
- MRICS qualification
- Minimum BA/BSc Hons (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management
- UK cost management experience, with a focus on real estate/property
- track record managing large commercial projects (e.g. mixed-use, residential, property developments)
- Proficiency in development valuations, demolition/public sector service contracts

Experience
- Previous roles involving:
- RC1 & RC2 stages, tender negotiation, and planning approval impacts
- New-build & fit-out project environments
- Development cost reviews, connections with discipline teams
Soft Skills
- Strong saleable communication—both written and verbal
- Client-centric mindset with negotiation experience
- Passionate about performance and learning as a team
