Senior Cost Manager – Enterprise Project Management (Occupier Services)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our Enterprise Project Management team, specialising in corporate fit-out and occupier-led projects.

This is a senior, client-facing role, focused on:

  • Leading cost management for UK and EMEA corporate portfolios.
  • Shaping commercial strategy to deliver consistent, best-in-class outcomes for global occupier clients.
  • Mentoring colleagues, contributing to multi-market bid submissions, and driving best practice across the EMEA Occupier Services platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cost management services for UK & EMEA corporate clients, including:
    • Feasibility-stage budgeting advice.
    • Preparing bids for Cost Management multi-market mandates.
    • Providing best-in-class cost reporting suitable for client presentation.
  • Ensure consistent project management & cost management instructions align with service agreements.
  • Work with the Enterprise Project Management team to establish best practice for Occupier Services (EMEA) in both Project Management & Cost Management.
  • Regular engagement with 650+ Project Managers, Building Surveyors, and Cost Managers across EMEA, as well as a specialist OS (Occupier Services) EMEA team of 130 (including Transaction Managers, Account Managers, Workplace Advisors, and Corporate Real Estate specialists).

Core Accountabilities:

  • Lead pre- and post-contract cost management for corporate fit-outs, including:
    • Offices, labs, call centres, and flexible workplace environments.
  • Provide strategic cost advice at feasibility and business case stages, covering:
    • Option appraisals, cost planning, and value engineering.
  • Produce clear, robust, and commercially focused cost reports for senior corporate stakeholders.
  • Oversee project financials from inception to close-out, including:
    • Change control, risk management, and final account settlements.
  • Act as a trusted commercial advisor, balancing cost, quality, programme, and risk.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in cost management for corporate fit-out / occupier projects, ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with blue-chip corporate clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of commercial offices and workplace delivery in the UK and/or EMEA regions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with outstanding organisation and time management.
  • High-level IT proficiency, including MS Excel (advanced capabilities), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience supporting multi-country or global client portfolios.
  • Familiarity with governance-led delivery models and service-level agreements.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent).
