A leading UK tier 1 construction business is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Planner / Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team in Birmingham, West Midlands. The role pays up to £100,000 + benefits, and is hybrid based.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded construction professional to play a key role in securing and shaping a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple sectors such as residential, commercial and public sector. Working within a collaborative pre-construction environment, you will be involved from concept stage through to tender submission, helping to deliver accurate cost planning and competitive bidding strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed cost plans, budgets and estimates for construction projects.
- Support the preparation of competitive tenders and pricing strategies.
- Review drawings, specifications and project information to identify risks, opportunities and key cost drivers.
- Work closely with design, commercial and operational teams to develop robust delivery solutions.
- Maintain cost benchmarking data and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
- Experience in a Cost Planning, Estimating or Pre-Construction role within the construction industry (residential, commercial, public sector)
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement routes and market conditions.
- Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within cross-functional teams.
