Senior Costs Lawyer
Role - Senior Costs Lawyer Location - London - Remote Salary - £100 - £110
We are excited to announce a new opportunity to join our highly regarded Costs team. To be considered, you will currently be an experienced Costs Solicitor with at least 5 years’ PQE, looking for the next step in your career and the opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of our London presence.
The role This is a unique opportunity combining high-level technical costs work with a strong business development focus. Working remotely from London, you will act as a senior representative of the Costs team in the London market while remaining closely integrated with our established Leeds based team.
The successful candidate will manage a smaller, high-quality caseload of complex technical costs matters, working largely on instructions generated through the Leeds team. Alongside this, a significant proportion of the role will focus on building and strengthening relationships in the London market, developing new workstreams, and supporting the wider strategic growth of the team

The caseload split is anticipated to be approximately 50% technical costs work 50% business development, networking, and strategic growth activity
There is genuine scope for the successful individual to build and develop a London-based team over time, supported by the wider business and leadership Team
What we are looking for We are considering applications from experienced senior costs lawyers who want to be part of an ambitious and growing national team. You will ideally have: A minimum of 5 years’ PQE as a qualified solicitor or Costs Lawyer Strong technical expertise across a broad range of contentious costs matters Experience handling complex costs disputes and high-value matters with minimal supervision Confidence managing your own caseload and client relationships Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in business development and relationship management Excellent communication and networking skills Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members

Desirable experience includes: Experience dealing with matters before the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) Existing London market relationships and profile within the costs arena Experience contributing to strategic team growth initiatives
To thrive within the firm, you will need to be motivated, collaborative, commercially minded and comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a wider national team.
There is also genuine long-term opportunity attached to this position, including the potential to build and lead a London-based costs team as the practice continues to grow.
