About the Role
You will work within a team of Analysts, providing support to a Credit Specialist in assessing new transactions and/or a Relationship Manager in supporting a portfolio of high-risk, high-need loan beneficiaries.

Job Purpose
- You will operate within a team of Analysts, providing support to credit assessment for new projects.
- Subject to experience and capability, you may oversee individual caseloads to facilitate professional growth.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Origination & Assessments
(S: Shortlisting | I: Interview | S&I: Assessed at both)
- Team Support:
- Analyse businesses' financial/non-financial strength (including sensitivities, cashflows and balance sheets) based on applicant info and external verification (reports sensitivities, presentations recommendations).
- Engage with applicants to request additional validation for credits (written/verbal).
- Collaborate with the Credit Committee via reports on transaction approvals, structures, and conditions.

Compliance & Execution:
- Uphold governance by maintaining audit-ready files and accurate Records, ensuring documentation integrity.
- Coordinate credit approvals through Lending Operations, supervising contract completion, condition checks, and security confirmations.

Portfolio Management & Reviews:
- Work alongside Relationship Managers to build relationships with loan beneficiaries.
- Monitor loans actively, performing credit risk reviews, annual stress tests, forewarnings of distress, and intervention recommendations.

- Pursue career growth by developing expertise and participating in broader projects to benefit Innovate UK.
Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Degree level equivalent experience in:
- Assessing business finances
- Banking or alternative finance industries
- Deciphering audited/management accounts to extract strengths/weaknesses
Desirable
- A relevant professional financial qualification (where experience is not sufficient)
Core Skills
- Financial analysis, risk assessment, stakeholder management
- Data-driven reporting; from financial accounts to verbal/mاسبة discussions
- Codeveloping strategies around cash forecasting, covenant compliance
