# Senior Credit Sanctioner – Credit Risk

About the Role

Shape the lending decisions that drive growth at Cynergy Bank, the UK’s human digital bank.

As a Senior Credit Sanctioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in assessing, approving, and structuring complex lending transactions across property investment, development finance, bridging, structured finance, healthcare, and hospitality. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll influence critical credit decisions, protect the lending portfolio, and contribute to its growth.

This isn’t just about underwriting—it’s about partnering with the business to shape strategy, challenge thinking, and help reshape our credit framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise credit decisions on complex real estate-backed lending transactions.
  • Structure high-value deals with Frontline Bankers, balancing growth with prudent risk management.
  • Exercise delegated lending authority across a diverse and high-value portfolio.
  • Present cases to the Executive Credit Committee, advocating for strategic lending opportunities.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identifying emerging risks, and driving mitigation where needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead improvements to credit processes, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Build strong internal relationships, collaboratively shaping lending portfolio strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
