About the Role Join Thermo Fisher Scientific and become a Senior Clinical Team Manager—where innovation meets impact. This role holds accountability for achieving clinical deliverables (such as clean data from evaluable patients) within strict contractual timelines. You’ll interpret complex data to drive business decisions, ensuring that time, cost, and quality meet customer expectations while maintaining profitability through efficient team management.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Senior Clinical Trial Manager (Sr CTM), with expertise in the Start Up Team Manager role or non-interventional/Phase IV studies preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
- Manage all clinical operational and quality aspects of assigned studies, optimising workflows to meet ICH GCP compliance.
- Take Lead Clinical Team Manager (Lead CTM) or Clinical Study Manager (CSM) responsibilities, including process improvements and complex program oversight.
Regulatory & Documentation
- Develop essential clinical tools (e.g., Monitoring Plan, Monitoring Guidelines) and contribute to the Master Action Plan (MAP).
- Ensure timely and accurate Trial Master File (TMF) organisation, data quality, and regulatory compliance, including start-up activities and ethics committee follow-ups.
- Support CRF design, patient informed consent templates, and protocol-specific document development.

Team & Project Coordination
- Collaborate with project managers to prepare client meetings, bid defenses, and hand-offs, ensuring clear communication on timelines and expectations.
- Lead clinical teams, improving processes, managing budgets, and delegating responsibilities across global sites.
- Train and enforce standardised monitoring protocols while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
Financial & Performance Management
- Track project timelines, costs, and operational risks, intervening early to address delays (e.g., correcting CRF Collection or monitoring visits).
- Conduct Accompanied Field Visits (AFVs) and ensure financial compliance.
- Monitor budget variance while optimising resource allocation and driving strategic forecasting for clinical activities.
Site & Stakeholder Relations
- Liaise directly with study sites to resolve issues (e.g., protocol adherence, patient enrolment, CRF completion).
- Represent the company at client meetings and regulatory submissions, maintaining trust and transparency.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of applicable clinical trial management experience.
- Qualified equivalencies (combining education/training + experience) may be considered in exceptional cases.

- Strong leadership – able to mentor, motivate, and integrate teams, especially in multicultural settings.
- Proven planning & organisational skills – with experience managing complex workloads efficiently.
- Interpersonal acumen – skilled in collaboration, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Clinical trial expertise – ICH/GCP, FDA, and related regulations must be implicit.
- Field experience – frequent domestic/international travel and visits to clinical sites required.
- Financial & technical proficiency – including budget forecasting, Excel/Outlook proficiency, and fiscal oversight.
