IPS Group are working closely with a Global Insurer who have a well-established place in the regional cyber market to recruit a Senior Cyber Underwriter in their Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Underwriter to play a key part in driving regional growth, developing broker relationships, and contributing to cyber insurance solutions in a rapidly evolving risk landscape.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be recognized as a trusted technical expert and key market contact, helping to deliver profitable growth while supporting the development of underwriting strategy, broker engagement, and product innovation.

You will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal cyber business across the regional market while building and strengthening broker relationships. You will contribute to the execution of underwriting strategy, support thought leadership initiatives, and help drive continued growth within the Cyber portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal Cyber risks within agreed authority levels and underwriting guidelines.
  • Achieve individual underwriting targets and contribute to the team's financial objectives.
  • Drive profitable growth through the acquisition of new business opportunities.
  • Support the achievement of regional Cyber portfolio retention and profitability targets.
  • Assess risk quality through detailed analysis of submissions, financial information, claims history, and broader business exposures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing broker partners.
  • Identify and cultivate new broker opportunities across the regional market.
  • Attend and host broker meetings, networking events, and market engagement activities.
  • Deliver exceptional service through a proactive, responsive, and commercially focused approach.
  • Take ownership of a significant proportion of new business generation targets.
  • Act as a referral point and technical guide for underwriters within the team.
  • Share cyber market insights, underwriting expertise, and best practice across the business.
  • Support cyber product development initiatives and thought leadership activities.
  • Contribute to underwriting strategies that strengthen market position and portfolio performance.

To be considered you must have current underwriting experience ideally focusing specifically on cyber or within a package such as technology with the desire and interest to focus on cyber. Candidates at proven Underwriter level looking to step up to Senior Underwriter will be considered as well as established Senior Underwriters looking for a new challenge.
