Senior Data & AI Architect

About the Role
This role focuses on aligning Data & AI architecture with business strategy, regulatory obligations, and technology standards to support data integration, analytics, and advanced use cases such as Machine Learning and Agentic AI. The Data & AI Architect will act as a technical leader, shaping architectural direction and ensuring scalable, secure, and fit-for-purpose solutions within Financial Services.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise, domain and solution-level data architecture, aligned to business and technology strategies.
- Design logical and physical data models supporting operational, analytical and AI use cases.
- Establish and maintain architecture standards, principles, patterns and reference architectures.
- Provide architectural oversight to ensure designs meet agreed standards and regulatory expectations.
- Collaborate with business, data, analytics, security and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
- Contribute to architectural roadmaps and investment planning, balancing short-term and long-term sustainability.
- Ensure designs fulfil security, resilience, performance and regulatory compliance, particularly in Financial Services.
- Mentor colleagues to promote exemplary Data & AI architecture practices.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong expertise in data modelling, data platforms, and information management.
- Understanding of the evolving architecture stack for Agentic AI.
- Real-world experience grounding AI solutions in structured and unstructured corporate data.
- Familiarity with designing analytical, reporting, and Machine Learning workloads.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Practical experience in the Financial Services sector, including regulatory and risk considerations affecting data.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in data modelling (conceptual, logical and physical).
- Expertise in data integration and information flow design.
- Knowledge of architecture standards, principles, and design assurance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership.
- Problem-solving and structured thinking.
