About the Role

The Data & AI Architect role ensures that Data & AI architecture aligns with business strategy, regulatory obligations and technology standards, supporting data integration, analytics, and advanced use cases such as Machine Learning and Agentic AI. The Data & AI Architect acts as a technical leader, shaping architectural direction, and supporting delivery teams to design scalable, secure, and purpose-driven solutions within a Financial Services environment.


Main Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise-, domain-, and solution-level data architecture aligned to business and technology strategies.
  • Design logical and physical data models to support operational, analytical, and AI use cases.
  • Establish and maintain architecture standards, principles, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • Provide architectural oversight and guidance to delivery teams, ensuring designs are consistent with agreed standards and meet regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with business, data, analytics, security, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural roadmaps and investment planning, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
  • Review and assure designs to ensure security, resilience, performance, and regulatory compliance, particularly within Financial Services.
  • Mentor colleagues and promote good data & AI architecture practices across teams.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of core data architecture concepts, including data modelling, data platforms, and information management.
  • Understanding of the evolving architecture stack for Agentic AI.
  • Real-world experience in grounding AI solutions in corporate data (structured/unstructured).
  • Experience designing data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and Machine Learning workloads.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Experience working within the Financial Services sector, with awareness of regulatory and risk considerations affecting data design.
  • Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
