Senior Data Analyst – Leicester or Bexhill (Hybrid) / Hastings
About the Role
Hastings Direct has exciting opportunities for scruity, creative, and data-driven professionals to drive Insurance Pricing. We’re seeking applicants who enjoy navigating data to improve risk assessment, ensuring fair pricing for customers while thinking outside traditional methodologies.
What You’ll Do
You’ll take a proactive leadership role in shaping our sophisticated, segmented insurance pricing across products. Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing vast data sets to uncover insights and shape impactful business decisions
- Developing and evolving pricing strategies with full visibility and ownership
- Collaborating with our Pricing, Data & Analytics teams, bringing fresh data sources to life
- Mentoring Graduate & Junior Analysts, helping to build a strong analytical talent pipeline
- Ensuring data-driven approaches permeate every aspect of our work—from insights to re-invention to value creation
What We’re Looking For
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Technical expertise: Fluent in Python, SQL, or R, with experience executing projects end-to-end in a fast-paced data environment
- Analytical prowess: A passion for numerical and statistical challenges, comfortably interpreting complex data
- Business impact focus: Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies that drive change
- Collaborative mindset: Willing to partner cross-functionally and mentor colleagues
