Senior Data Analyst | Investment Data Governance & Oversight | London (City) | Permanent | 50% Hybrid
Our client, a London-based investment manager, is hiring a senior data analyst into its newly created data oversight team. The firm is moving from a fragmented legacy environment to a federated, target-state architecture: an enterprise data lakehouse, stronger governance and quality controls, and new mastering capabilities including a security master and IBOR. Discovery is complete and implementation is now beginning.
You will be the bridge between the business and the development teams, taking requirements from front office, performance and risk, turning them into clear documentation for developers, and staying with the work through testing and sign-off. In a risk-averse firm, governance and data quality are the point of the role, and the work blends transformation with BAU.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role
- Analyse current-state investment data structures and the issues, risks and dependencies in the move to the target-state lakehouse and mastering model
- Translate business requirements into data requirements and technical specifications, supporting testing through to business sign-off
- Support the security master and IBOR implementations, from source-to-target mapping and validation through to testing
- Evaluate market data usage across asset classes, reference data, pricing and indices, and consolidate or retire duplicated datasets
- Map sources front to back, build out lineage and the data catalogue, and communicate progress, risks and decisions to business and technology stakeholders
What You'll Need
- Investment management experience and a solid grasp of investment data front to back, including IBOR concepts and market data usage
- Hands-on experience with data mastering platforms; a security master implementation is ideal
- Strong knowledge of financial datasets across asset classes and the main providers, including Bloomberg
- Practical experience of data quality, controls and governance
- Exposure to modern data platforms, ideally lakehouse architectures, with data modelling and flow mapping skills
- Programme or implementation experience, with the communication skills to work across technical and business teams
