Senior Data Analyst - Speciality Insurance London, Hybrid £85,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits
We’re partnering with a highly respected Lloyd’s market insurer undergoing a major evolution in how data supports commercial decision-making. This is a genuine opportunity to move beyond dashboard delivery and become a trusted analytics partner to underwriting teams, helping shape pricing decisions, portfolio strategy, claims insight, and exposure management.
This role sits at the centre of a growing analytics function as it shifts from platform delivery into high-value, insight-led analytics.
What You’ll Be Doing Partner directly with underwriting teams as the senior analytics SME Translate commercial questions into analytical solutions and actionable insight Build advanced dashboards, analytics products, and decision-support tools Support pricing, portfolio optimisation, renewal strategy, and exposure analysis Identify automation opportunities that improve operational efficiency Introduce practical AI tooling into analytics workflows (LLMs, Copilot, agentic tools, workflow acceleration) Deliver complex analytics projects end-to-end, from scoping through deployment Help establish and maintain Power BI governance and engineering standards Work with Data Engineering to influence semantic models and curated data layers Mentor junior analysts and contribute to peer reviews / knowledge sharing Operate within an Agile delivery environment

What We’re Looking For Essential 5+ years in Data Analytics / BI roles Strong London Market insurance experience (Lloyd’s syndicate, MGA, specialty insurer, or broker environment) Advanced SQL, query optimisation, and experience working across Azure data environments / semantic layers Advanced Power BI expertise: data modelling, DAX, Power Query / M, performance optimisation, RLS, deployment pipelines Power BI engineering best practice: PBIP / TMDL, Git version control, pull requests, peer review, structured release processes Proven stakeholder management, with the ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into actionable analytics Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
