Senior Data & Performance Officer
9-month contract | Hybrid – 2 days per week in Bristol
A public sector organisation leading net zero and clean energy delivery across the South West is looking for a Senior Data & Performance Officer to join a newly formed Regional Delivery Team on an initial 9-month contract.
This is a data and analytics role at the heart of a nationally significant programme. You'll turn complex data into clear, compelling evidence that shapes strategy, guides decision-making and demonstrates the real-world impact of energy and net zero projects to senior stakeholders, including central government and the programme board.
What you'll be doing
- Designing and delivering high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to guide strategic and operational priorities
- Building and developing a CRM system (PowerApps / Dynamics 365), and training managers and teams to get the most from it
- Creating and maintaining an impactful project performance dashboard to track key programme indicators
- Leading GIS mapping projects to bring regional data to life
- Automating processes and reporting to improve efficiency across teams
- Acting as the team's data champion and information asset custodian, ensuring all data is managed in line with GDPR
- Building strong relationships with local and national partners, and representing the organisation on a cross-regional data working group

What we're looking for
- Strong analytical background, educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a quantitative element
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform – Power BI, Power Automate and PowerApps / Dynamics 365
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working across a range of data sources
- A good understanding of GIS and CRM systems
- Working knowledge of coding languages such as SQL, DAX, HTML or JavaScript
- Proven experience designing analysis and reporting that shapes strategy and influences decisions
- Experience building automated processes and powerful BI dashboards
- The ability to translate complex, technical information for non-specialist audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and the drive to work independently to tight deadlines
