Data Architect (Interim) – Remote – 6 Months (UK-Based) – Strong BI Background
About the Role
This interim Data Architect role is critical to design an end-to-end Data & BI solution for an M&A (mergers & acquisitions) carve-out programme, involving integration across multiple organisations with diverse ERP systems—primarily Microsoft Dynamics and SAP.
The final organisation is committed to a Microsoft-focused (Dynamics) platform, requiring seamless transition and consolidation.

- Data Model
- Develop logical and physical data models
- Align with enterprise BI strategy & roadmap
Data Architecture & Modelling
- Define data structures (facts, dimensions, hierarchies)
- Establish a single source of truth for:
- Master data
- Golden datasets
- Ensure cross-system consistency (e.g., ERP alignment)
Data Integration & ETL/ELT
- Design reliable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Govern integration patterns via:
- APIs
- Flat files
- Staging layers
- Optimise data ingestion and transformation
Reporting & Analytics Design
- Build reporting architecture:
- Power BI dashboards
- Data marts
- Define KPIs & business metrics, tailored to:
- Business processes (sales, finance, operations)
- Technical oversight (interfaces, errors, integration health)
- Prioritise:
- Scalability
- Performance
- Business alignment

Data Governance, Quality & Security
- Define data standards and validation rules
- Implement reconciliation logic
- Ensure:
- Governance (ownership, stewardship)
- Security (access controls, GDPR compliance)
- Data accuracy
Documentation & Handover to Business-as-Usual (BAU)
- Develop a data dictionary
- Train support teams
- Transfer ownership of operational reporting post-wrap
Emphasis on: M&A carve-outs, Microsoft Dynamics-first alignment, end-to-end BI governance. (Critical interim role.)
