Founded 21 years ago, we are now established as one of the UK’s leading online fashion retailers. We employ around 150 employees across head office and retail, creating and selling a beautiful range of women’s clothing and accessories characterised by effortlessness, simplicity and a laidback sense of style. Despite the challenges to the retail industry, Hush has continued grow – and our company culture still reflects our entrepreneurial roots and relaxed aesthetic. As we continue to grow, we're investing heavily in our data capability and are looking for a commercially-minded Senior Data Engineer to lead the evolution of our data platform, insight strategy and AI-driven ways of working.
This is not a traditional engineering role.
We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical expertise with commercial curiosity; someone who enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business, asking the right questions, challenging assumptions and turning data into meaningful action.
You'll own the architecture of our data platform, help shape strategic decisions across the business and play a key role in defining how AI is leveraged within our data function.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Own and Evolve Our Data Platform
- Lead the architecture and development of our modern data platform, including data warehouse, modelling layer and pipelines.
- Define and maintain best practices across data modelling, testing, governance and documentation.
- Ensure the platform remains secure, scalable and high-performing.
-
Partner with the Business
- Work closely with Commercial, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations teams to understand priorities and identify opportunities where data can drive better decisions.
- Translate business challenges into practical data solutions.
- Build compelling business cases for data initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
