Senior Data Engineer Contract | London | Hybrid (3 days per week) | £650-£750 inside IR35
We're partnering with a leading global investment management firm seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data team delivering a strategic enterprise-wide data platform.
This is a highly business-facing engineering role where you'll work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, challenge existing processes and help drive adoption of scalable, long-term data solutions. The team is looking for engineers who can combine strong technical capability with the confidence to influence and engage with users across the business.
What you'll be doing Designing, building and enhancing enterprise data solutions. Developing and optimising data pipelines, transformations and integrations. Working directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions. Contributing to the evolution of a strategic cloud-based data platform. Improving data quality, performance and scalability across large datasets. Supporting the full software development lifecycle from design through to deployment and production support. Driving best practice across engineering, testing and delivery.

Technology Stack SQL Snowflake Azure Data Factory dbt Python Azure DevOps Git
What we're looking for Experience working on major data platforms within the financial services/ asset management industry. Strong experience in Data Engineering and data warehousing environments. Hands-on expertise with SQL and modern cloud-based data platforms. Experience working with Snowflake. Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, dbt and Python. Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD and source control. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. A pragmatic problem solver who can balance immediate delivery needs with longer-term platform strategy.

Desirable Experience Salesforce integrations and data modelling. .NET and broader Azure development experience. Agile delivery environments. Test automation and TDD practices.
