Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Leeds - Hybrid
Salary: Up to £80,000

You'll remain hands on, designing and building modern cloud-based data platforms, developing scalable pipelines, and delivering solutions that enable better decision-making across a variety of projects. More importantly, you'll be joining at the start of an exciting growth journey, giving you the opportunity to expand your responsibilities, help build the data function, and accelerate your own career as the business scales.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and deliver scalable cloud-based data platforms and data engineering solutions.
- Develop robust, high-performance data pipelines and modern ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Contribute to the architecture and technical design of secure, scalable, and resilient data platforms.
- Build and optimise cloud-native data solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Work closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver complex technical solutions.
- Design and implement data models and storage solutions that support high-performance analytics and operational workloads.
- Optimise data platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Champion engineering best practices across code quality, automation, testing, security, and CI/CD.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvements across data platforms.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and contribute to technical innovation across the business.

Requirements:
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-native data engineering solutions.
- Strong expertise with Azure (Data Factory, Synapse), AWS (Redshift, Glue), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Experience contributing to cloud data architecture and technical solution design.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Advanced SQL skills, including optimisation and performance tuning.
- Experience building modern ETL/ELT pipelines and distributed data processing solutions.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, or CI/CD practices would be advantageous.
- A genuine curiosity in AI, and a desire to help shape how they can be adopted within modern cloud data solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver robust, scalable technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
