Senior Data Engineer | London
Location: London (Hybrid – 4 days in the office)
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 (DOE)

A fast-growing AI SaaS business is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build the data foundations behind its analytics and AI products.
This is a hands-on role where you'll design and optimise the pipelines, data models and architecture that power customer-facing analytics and machine learning solutions. Working with large, complex datasets, you'll help ensure data is accurate, scalable and trusted across the business.
A key requirement for this role is advanced SQL expertise. You'll spend a significant amount of time writing and optimising complex SQL to transform high-volume data into reliable, production-ready datasets, making SQL one of the most important technical skills for success in this position.

You'll be joining a modern, cloud-first engineering environment using technologies such as Spark, Snowflake and BigQuery across AWS, GCP and Azure, working closely with Product, Analytics and Machine Learning teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines
- Own data workflows from source through to production
- Develop and optimise complex SQL transformations
- Work with large, complex and evolving datasets
- Improve data quality, performance and reliability
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics and Machine Learning teams
- Contribute to engineering best practices and platform improvements
What We're Looking For
- Proven Python skills with advanced, production-level SQL expertise
- Experience delivering end-to-end data engineering solutions
- Experience with Spark, Snowflake, BigQuery or similar modern data technologies
- Cloud experience across AWS, GCP or Azure
- Comfortable working with complex, imperfect, high-volume datasets
- Strong ownership, taking solutions from design through to deployment
