A global organisation at the forefront of the energy transition requires a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Glasgow (hybrid).
This role will play a key role in building and evolving a world-class data platform.
This is an opportunity to join a business making significant investment in data, analytics and AI, where you'll combine hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities. You'll help design and deliver scalable data solutions that power reporting, analytics and machine learning initiatives across a complex global environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, building and optimising modern data pipelines and platforms
- Leading and mentoring a small team of Data Engineers
- Driving engineering best practices around quality, automation, security and observability
- Working closely with stakeholders across technology and the wider business to deliver high-value data products
- Supporting AI and machine learning initiatives through robust, feature-ready datasets
- Influencing technical strategy and helping shape the future of the data platform

You’ll ideally have most of the following
- Proven experience in a Senior Data Engineering role with team leadership responsibilities
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Deep expertise across the Microsoft data ecosystem, including Azure, Fabric, Synapse and Purview (MS Fabric experience is essential!)
- Experience building enterprise-scale data platforms, warehouses and lakehouse solutions
- A strong understanding of data governance, security and data quality
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
