About the Role
The Interconnectors Data Platform (ICDP) is a cloud-based data warehouse underpinning critical commercial, financial modelling, and operational decision-making. As the platform evolves toward a modernized Medallion Architecture and Azure-native ingestion patterns, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to provide:
- Strategic architectural direction

- End-to-end pipeline modernization
This is a perfect opportunity to shape best-in-class data infrastructure while collaborating across Product, IT&D, and external partners.

- Steward the platform’s technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with modern engineering best practices.
- Develop highly observable, secure, and performant ingestion and transformation pipelines.
Pipeline Development & Operations
- Drive the migration from legacy ETL tools (e.g., Matillion) to Azure-native pipelines, including:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Functions
- Event-driven frameworks
- Build and scale optimized SQL transformations, curated data layers, and cost-effective data models.
- Embed CI/CD, scalable testing, version control, and monitoring into engineering workflows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
