Job Spec:
We are seeking an experienced Development Lead with strong expertise in Teradata, Snowflake, and CI/CD automation to lead enterprise-scale data platform initiatives, including legacy Teradata modernization and Snowflake cloud migrations. The role requires hands-on technical leadership, architectural thinking, and the ability to mentor teams while working closely with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead design and development of data solutions using Teradata and Snowflake
- Own end-to-end modernization initiatives from Teradata → Snowflake
- Lead development of data models ETL processes and data integration strategies
- Define data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization standards
- Ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient Snowflake usage
- Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance data management and analytics capabilities

Migration & Modernization
- Assess existing Teradata BTEQ, Fast Load, Multiload, TPT jobs
- Redesign and implement equivalent solutions in Snowflake (SQL, Streams, Tasks, MERGE)
- Drive data hydration, CDC, and incremental load patterns
- Knowledge on ETL, including the ability to read and write efficient, robust code, follow or implement best practices and coding standards design/implement common ETL strategies
- Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform and load data from a wide variety of data sources using Apache suites (airflow, spark), SQL, Python and ETL
CI/CD & DevOps
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
- Automate:
- Code deployment
- Environment promotion (Dev → QA → Prod)
- Rollbacks and validations
- Integrate CI/CD with tools like Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
- Enforce version control, code reviews, and branching strategies
- Design and develop ETL workflow and data integration strategies
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Mentor developers and reviewers on best practices
- Coordinate with architects, QA, DevOps, and business teams
- Provide technical guidance during design and production issues
- Participate in client discussions and solution reviews

Required Technical Skills
Core Technologies
- Teradata
- Strong SQL, performance tuning
- BTEQ scripting
- Experience with utilities (FastLoad, MultiLoad, TPT – preferred)
- Snowflake
- Snowflake architecture (virtual warehouses, storage, micro-partitioning)
- SQL optimization and cost governance
- Streams, Tasks, MERGE
- Roles, RBAC, security & data sharing
CI/CD & DevOps
- Git (branching strategies, PR reviews)
- CI/CD pipelines for database and data workloads
- Tools: Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions (any)
- Infrastructure-as-Code understanding (good to have)
Data Engineering
- ETL / ELT concepts
- Solid understanding of ETL process and data integration techniques
- Creation and support of batch and real time data pipelines and ongoing data monitoring and validation built on AWS/Snowflake /Apache technologies for different sources
- CDC ingestion and incremental processing
- Data hydration, SCD Type 1 / Type 2
- Error handling, logging, and observability
