Senior Data Engineer - Payments
A fast-growing fintech business transforming how companies move money internationally through a modern payments platform is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team.
About the Role
Design, build, and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines within a modern Databricks environment.
Develop and maintain:
- Workflow orchestration
- Monitoring
- Alerting
- Data quality controls
Integrate external platforms and APIs into the wider data ecosystem.
Collaborate with Data, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and BI teams to deliver commercially impactful data products.
Contribute to:
- AI initiatives
- Platform architecture
- The evolution of the company’s data strategy

Responsibilities
- Build and optimise scalable pipelines in Databricks
- Develop and maintain workflow orchestration, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms
- Implement data governance, monitoring, and quality frameworks
- Integrate third-party systems and APIs into the data ecosystem
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions with commercial impact
Requirements
✔ Hands-on experience in Databricks and Azure ✔ Strong expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL with focus on scalable data platforms ✔ Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub, Terraform, and deployment automation platforms ✔ Experience in data governance, monitoring, and data quality frameworks ✔ Proactive mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth fintech environment
- Fintech or Payments experience is a plus
