Senior Data Engineer – Databricks SME
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our client's growing data team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their modern data platform.
Working with Azure, Databricks and Lakehouse technologies, you'll design and build scalable, production-grade data solutions that enable analytics, operational reporting and the next generation of AI-powered products. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-impact engineering challenges within a collaborative, forward-thinking technology team.

Responsibilities
- Design and optimise data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Synapse and Delta Lake
- Build scalable Lakehouse solutions following Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
- Develop ingestion and transformation pipelines across APIs, SQL, SaaS platforms and FTP
- Drive data quality, governance, monitoring and performance optimisation
- Champion engineering best practices, CI/CD, testing and Infrastructure as Code
- Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and product teams to deliver trusted, production-ready data
- Mentor engineers and help shape the future of our Databricks platform

Experience required
- 5+ years' experience in cloud-based data engineering
- Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, ADF and Synapse
- Advanced Python and SQL skills
- Experience building production-grade data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform and data governance best practices
