Senior Data Platform Engineer
šRemote first, once per month in London office
šµ Ā£85,000 to Ā£100,000
A fast-growing e-commerce marketplace is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help architect, build, and scale its data platform.
Responsibilities
- Design platform services and tools that let teams work with data securely at scale
- Own data transformation and orchestration, as well as ingestion, storage and governance for the data lake
- Lead complex technical initiatives, from roadmap to delivery
- Drive operational excellence: automation, monitoring, incident response
- Build stakeholder trust and mentor others on the team

Requirements

- Hands-on expertise with Databricks or Kafka
- Strong Python or Scala skills with solid engineering fundamentals.
- Proven experience scaling data systems in production on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Up-to-date and comfortable with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)
- Great communicator, able to align technical and non-technical stakeholders
