Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 per annum
Start Date: Immediate
Our client, one of the UK's fastest growing AWS Premier Partners, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their Data team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Data Engineer, you will take ownership of delivering complex data engagements and projects for customers, while mentoring junior members of the team and deputising for the Principal Data Engineer where required.
This is an excellent opportunity for a consultancy-background Engineer who thrives managing multiple engagements simultaneously and can operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Role Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of major data engineering projects, delivering complex client engagements end-to-end
- Lead discovery workshops and Data Migration Assessments (DMAs), presenting to customers and owning sessions from day one
- Design and build robust data pipelines and solutions on AWS using Glue, Redshift, DBT and Step Functions
- Develop AI, Agentic AI and Machine Learning solutions, grounded in a clear understanding of the SDLC
- Deputise for the Principal Data Engineer in their absence
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and DevOps teams — no project is data-only
- Mentor junior engineers and support interns, acting as a technical point of reference for the wider team
- Manage external delivery resource, and keep an eye out for new opportunities as engagements progress

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
