Job Title: Senior Data Modeler - Insurance

Location: London

About the Job you are considering:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in the Insurance industry to design, develop, and govern enterprise data models supporting policy administration, claims, underwriting, reinsurance, actuarial reporting, customer analytics, finance, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Hybrid working:

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

Data Modelling & Architecture

  • Design and maintain:
    • Conceptual Data Models
    • Logical Data Models
    • Physical Data Models
  • Translate business requirements into scalable enterprise data structures.
  • Develop data models supporting:
    • Policy Administration
    • Claims Management
    • Underwriting
    • Reinsurance
    • Actuarial Reporting
    • Billing & Payments
    • Customer 360
    • Regulatory Compliance
  • Create and maintain:
    • Data Dictionaries
    • Business Glossaries
    • Metadata Repositories
  • Establish enterprise data standards and naming conventions.

Data Governance & Quality

  • Define:
    • Data Lineage
    • Data Ownership
    • Data Quality Rules
  • Support governance and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct impact analysis for data model changes.
  • Ensure enterprise data consistency and integrity.

Data Platform & Analytics Support

  • Work with ETL/ELT teams on source-to-target mappings.
  • Optimize data models for reporting, analytics, and business intelligence workloads.

Your Skills:

Data Modelling Expertise

  • Strong experience in:
    • Conceptual Data Modelling
    • Logical Data Modelling
    • Physical Data Modelling
    • Dimensional Modelling
    • Data Vault Modelling
    • 3NF (Normalized Database Design)

Data Modelling Tools

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • ERwin Data Modeller
    • ER/Studio
    • PowerDesigner
    • SQL Developer Data Modeler
