Data Science Manager
About the Role
You will be leading a Data Science team to deliver machine learning and advanced analytics solutions that improve customer insight, drive commercial decision-making and enable personalisation across a retail organisation.
You will be able to challenge approaches, raise standards, coach technical talent and influence senior stakeholders across Customer, Digital, CRM, Loyalty, Retail Media, Finance, and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Data Science team.
- Own and deliver the Data Science roadmap, prioritising work based on business value.
- Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models, including churn, customer lifetime value, forecasting, segmentation, and recommendation.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, governed, and production-ready.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate commercial challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Drive best practice in data science, model governance, and technical delivery.
- Deliver measurable business value through the effective use of data science.

- Proven experience leading Data Science teams in a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, Python, and SQL.
- Experience developing and deploying predictive models using customer and commercial data.
- Experience with cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery).
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Commercially focused with the ability to prioritise and deliver high-impact outcomes.
