Senior Data Scientist
Central London (2 days per week in office) | Up to £85,000 + Equity
If you're the type of Data Scientist who enjoys seeing your models directly influence business decisions, this could be a great fit.
This isn't a role where you'll spend months optimising models in isolation. You'll be working closely with senior leaders, owning credit risk models from development through to deployment, and helping shape how a growing fintech makes lending decisions. The team is small, collaborative, and moving quickly, so you'll have the opportunity to make a visible impact from day one.
The Company
They are a growing fintech that is taking a different approach to consumer lending. Rather than relying solely on traditional credit scoring, they use a broader view of affordability and income data to make more personalised lending decisions.
The business has already proven its model, is cash-flow positive, and is entering its next phase of growth following additional investment. You'll join a lean team where decisions are made quickly and where your work will have a genuine influence on the direction of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
