The Role: Senior Data Scientist Consultant
Digital Transformation Consulting (DTC) is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join the Insight practice, a rapidly expanding, strategically important capability within Atos UK Consulting. This is a role that combines deep technical expertise with strong client-facing skills within a consulting-led environment.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Data Scientist Consultant, you will:
- Collaborate with public sector and enterprise clients to identify high-value analytics and AI use cases
- Design and deliver end-to-end solutions from discovery to operationalisation at scale
- Engage across the entire project lifecycle, including discovery, development, validation, and production deployment, within multidisciplinary consulting and delivery teams
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with clients and stakeholders to align with business objectives, identify high-value AI and analytics use cases, and establish clear success metrics
- Owning the delivery of end-to-end data science and AI solutions, covering the lineage from exploratory analysis to production deployment
- Building, evaluating, and implementing efficient statistical models, machine learning systems, and Generative AI solutions, including:
- LLM-based approaches
- RAG-enabled (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) capabilities
- Supporting operational delivery, from deployment through to governance, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- Translating intricate analytical insights into actionable deliverables for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Championing responsible and ethical AI adoption, mitigating risks related to privacy, security, and safety
- Mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to improvements in:
- reusable accelerators
- best practices
- broader capability development
Skills We Require
Critical capabilities include:
- Client stakeholder engagement (strong relationship-building)
- Applied data science expertise:
- Machine learning and AI delivery experience
- Knowledge of Generative AI and model containers
- Proficiency in Python (key libraries: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
- Deep expertise in deep learning and NLP frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace Transformers)
- Understanding of MLOps and model operationalisation
- Awareness of responsible AI principles and frameworks

Additional Requirements
- Security clearance (minimum *(SC/ BPSS))
- Pre-sales/experience supporting clients in consultative discussions
- Practical familiarity with regulated industry challenges (e.g., finance, health, government)
- Awareness and application of enterprise architecture frameworks
