Role Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll help shape some of Western Union's most important growth and investment decisions by uncovering what truly drives customer growth, profitability, and long-term value. Partnering across Marketing, Product, Pricing, and Risk, you'll design experiments, build measurement frameworks, and apply causal analysis to influence business decisions and investment priorities.

  • Design and analyse A/B tests, holdouts, geo experiments, and other experimental frameworks to evaluate initiatives and establish causality.
  • Build robust measurement approaches for marketing, product, pricing, and risk initiatives, including incrementality, ROAS, CAC, retention, conversion, and customer lifetime value.
  • Apply statistical and causal inference techniques, including regression analysis, seasonality adjustment, interrupted time series, and causal impact frameworks, to determine business impact.
  • Analyse customer behaviour, identify growth opportunities, and uncover root causes behind performance trends.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations that help teams decide what to stop, start, or scale.
  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders and help raise analytical, measurement, and experimentation standards across the business.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Data Science, Product Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Growth Analytics, or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced SQL and Python or R skills.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, and causal inference methodologies.
  • Experience designing and analysing A/B tests, controlled experiments, holdouts, and geo experiments.
  • Experience measuring incrementality and evaluating business initiatives using data-driven approaches.
  • Strong understanding of growth and performance metrics, including ROAS, CAC, conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
