Role Description
We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Senior Delegated Authority Underwriter to join our team. This is a hybrid position and will require travel to either our Chelmsford or London offices.
As our Senior Delegated Authority Underwriter, you will focus on running and managing delegated authority schemes arrangements. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our underwriting strategy for our non-standard motor book of business.
- Participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group.
- For pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

Salary Information
- Pay: Circa £45,000 per year.
- Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
As the Senior Delegated Authority Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Underwriting manager to develop underwriting strategy in collaboration with the pricing managers.
- Monthly reviews of delegated authority performance.
- Evaluating new schemes opportunities.
- Using technical knowledge and awareness of customer needs to identify opportunities and threats.
- Monitoring market, technology and data developments, customer feedback and product performance MI.
- Maintaining and updating product specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Refreshing rate charts regularly for up-to-date pricing information.
- Managing product updates to keep offerings current and competitive.
- Making a cross-product and cross-functional view, identifying opportunities to improve the process.

Essential Skills
- Experience in underwriting, product development or relevant technical experience.
- Interpret MI and analysis effectively, using data to spot risks, opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Experience with delegated authority or schemes arrangements.
- Understand underwriting appetite and governance.
- Skilled in stakeholder and project management.
- Clear communication skills, reporting and presentation skills.
- Spot risks and opportunities, recommend solutions.
Desirable Skills
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
