Security Delivery Consultant
Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe)
The AWS Professional Services (ProServe) team is looking for a hands-on, security-focused Delivery Consultant to join our team. You’ll design, build, and implement security solutions in real-world customer environments—engineering detective and preventive controls, infrastructure as code, and architecting security into workloads from the ground up.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud architecture and security engineering, helping customers embed security as a core capability—not an afterthought. The focus is on delivering automated, repeatable security controls that scale across complex environments.

- Structure solutions across identity, network, data protection, detection/response, and infrastructure security
- Enable customers to move fast while staying secure
- Produce reference architectures, reusable patterns, and working code—driving adoption across your team and broader community

About The Role
Location: UK Employee Status: Full Time Citizenship Requirement: UK citizenship + ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (UK Government Vetting Levels).

Design & Implement Security Controls:
- Deliver automated, scalable security architectures using AWS security services + infrastructure as code
- CreateDomain-specific solutions for identity, network, data protection, compliance automation, security monitoring in customer environments

Independent Technical Problem Solving:
- Expertly address risks in access control, network segmentation, workload encryption, incident detection
- Proactively identify risks, escalate when needed, and develop mitigation strategies within project timelines

Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Partner with customers, AWS partners, programme managers to define security requirements
- Lead multi-functional sessions on security design principles to ensure risks are understood and managed

Reference Architecture & Pattern Development:
- Build reusable reference Architectures, playbooks, and automation (EventBridge, Lambda, Security Hub)
- Contribute exhaustively to team documentation, ensuring learnings and tooling benefit others

Business & Strategic Alignment:
- Propose security processes, compliance checks, and automated baselines to scaling organizations
- Align security maturity gaps to long-term cloud transformation goals

Basic Qualifications

Technical Expertise:
- Demonstrated architecture & design know-how in cloud-based solutions
- Hands-on experience in system administration, network design, or operating system-oriented environments
- A leads to the end solutions using AWS Security
- Understanding of scripting & automation (best-in-class practices in Python, CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)

Breaking & Resolving Security Challenges:
- Strong ability to desperately troubleshoot distributed cloud environments (hybrid, AWS-native, or observer architectures)
- Exposure to IAM strategy & network firewall configurations
- Knowledge of security architectures principles and government standards

Preferred Qualifications

AWS & Multi-Account Security:
- Deep experience designing scalable, multi-account security setups leveraging AWS Control Tower, SCPs, IAM roles, guardrails
- Expertise in EventBridge automation, Lambda custom actions, and Security Hub

Security & Compliance Mastery:
- Experience in government/public sector or regulated environments (finance, healthcare)
- Covers security topics including ersibles, encryption, least-privilege access models

Modern Compute & Pervasive Security:
- Skills in containers, serverless computing (ECS, Lambda), both from a hardwired attorney safety perspective
- Understanding how volatility drives compliance & operational characteristics
