The Role
SSEN-Transmission is delivering a significant Data Driven investment programme as part of RIIO-T3, enabling our ambition to become a data-driven leader in electricity transmission. The programme will significantly improve how data is managed, governed, shared, and utilised across the business, creating trusted, integrated, and automated data capabilities that support efficient network operations and growth, improved decision-making, automation, and AI adoption.
Reporting to the Data Driven Programme Manager, the Senior Project Delivery Lead will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic data initiatives that underpin our Data Strategy. The programme is based around the four pillars of that strategy: Data & AI literacy, Fit for Purpose Data Formats, Data Management and Governance, and Data Products. The role will ensure projects achieve their objectives, deliver measurable business value, and are completed on time and within budget while fostering strong relationships across business, technical, and supplier teams.
You Will
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple strategic data projects across the RIIO-T3 Data Driven Programme to deliver the agreed business outcomes while ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery blockers across projects and business areas.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications, providing clear insight to programme leadership and governance boards.
- Manage third-party suppliers and delivery partners, holding them accountable for performance, quality, and value delivery.
- Partner with the business and technical teams, industry stakeholders, data, and product owners to shape delivery roadmaps and prioritise objectives.
- Support business change, adoption, and continuous improvement activities to ensure solutions deliver sustainable benefits and operational value, and alignment with strategic objectives and RIIO-T3 commitments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
